The Navigational Radios – Radar Altimeters is an engineering group with the CNS organization in which this Project Engineer role is Included – with products spread across both commercial and military domains. 
While part of a large company and diverse organization, the NavRadio-Radar Altimeter group operates very much like a small business in many ways. We are fully integrated every aspect of a product’s life cycle – from working with a customer on a concept and subsequent proposal, through development, verification, production, and even obsolescence refreshes. Our key contributors are expected to wear multiple “hats” dependent upon the program scope and timeline.  With respect to Project Engineers (PE), our expectation on medium to smaller programs is for the PE to operate as both PE and LSE (Lead System Engineer) – managing the cost/schedule of the program along with driving technical discussions and stepping in and executing work where needed – such as drafting technical presentations or data items and maybe even running a test or two in the lab as required.
On larger programs the PE can be up to a full-time job, managing all program areas technical and programmatic.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and the program manager
• Prepare schedules and resource forecasting
• Participate in proposals and cost estimation
• Provide project oversight of day to day activities to achieve on time and on budget execution 
• Oversight of risk management process and baseline change processes
• Drive the EVM (Earned Value Management) process and effective management operating process (MOS).
• “Jump in” and support technical team as needed with small/medium programs

Travel within US and/ or internationally may be required - 10%
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Computer or Mechanical Engineering, or Physics or Computer Science Degree
• 5+ years of experience on development programs for mix of commercial and military products 
• 1+ years of experience leading team/project
• Familiarity with electronics and RF disciplines
• Ability to lead teams to fast, practical solutions using RCCA processes
• Ability to scope, estimate, & plan activities or “projects”, including resource allocations
• Ability to drive activity execution & report appropriate status to stakeholders
• Ability to bridge across functions & organization levels 
• Has excellent leadership, interpersonal, & communication skills
• Has strong bias for action, willing to dig into problems, & fill white space
• Action oriented, high energy, able to seize opportunities when they arise. 
• Ability to deal with ambiguity.  Able to effectively cope with change.  Ability to make decisions and act in the face of limited data availability and achieve success despite ambiguity.  Ability to manage risk and uncertainty.
